In a previous blog post we highlighted how the use of our products ensure that we’re all able to do our bit, even in our own gardens. With regular use, plants are given all they need to ensure a bountiful crop of home grown produce, beautiful flowers, all with the use of natural ingredients which do not interfere with the surrounding wildlife and soil.
For us, it’s not just about what’s inside our products, but also the outside so we’re striving to be as sustainable as we can in our packaging methods. The outer packaging of our products is housed in cardboard, which is 100% recyclable and biodegradable, and one of the available packaging materials with the least environmental impact.
As you may or may not have already noticed, we recently changed all individual bottles and caps to be aluminium. This has many benefits as a packaging material. Like cardboard, it is 100% recyclable, and is now referred to as a permanently available resource, meaning that aluminium products can be easily reused and recycled an infinite number of times without losing any of their quality. The weight of our new packaging compared to plastics and glass, is also important when measuring how sustainable it is as a material choice. The lighter a package, the less energy required to transport these to you, so it’s easier to maintain a lower carbon footprint. You may be thinking that it’s decreased weight may mean that it isn’t as strong, but this isn’t the case at all – all products are shipped safely and with out damage.
